What is the difference between EN and CE certification?

CE certification is the European Union's product certification, is the product does not endanger the safety of humans, animals and goods of the basic safety requirements, rather than the general quality requirements, the coordination directive only specifies the main requirements, the general directive requirements is the standard task. The ce mark is a safety conformity mark rather than a quality conformity mark and is a "major requirement" that forms the core of the European Directive.

EN is a regulation, EN is a standard, through the en test, in order to attach the ce mark, you can go out of the EU. Different products correspond to different EN standards. If a product passes the test of an EN standard, it also means that it meets the requirements of CE certification, so it is sometimes called EN certification.

EN (European Standard) : The adoption of this EN standard will give legal status to the relevant national standard of a Member State, or revoke the relevant standard of a country in opposition to it, in accordance with the common obligations of the participating countries. In other words, the national standards of member States must be consistent with the EN standards. Products pass the EN test standards to get ce certification.
