What is SPCC?

SPCC:Spill Prevention, Control andCountermeasures

SPCC stands for Leak Prevention, Control and Solutions. In accordance with the authoritative rules of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act and the Clean Water Act, this regulation is intended to prevent oil pollution of U.S. waterways. The SPCC code Outlines requirements for owners and operators of onshore and offshore facilities to prepare and implement spill prevention, control, and solution plans.

SPCC regulations require owners and operators to implement SPCC plans as a secondary spill containment solution for containers larger than 55 gallons. Each leak secondary containment product shall comply with :

(1) the full volume of liquid that can hold the maximum container.

(2) It has enough super-high sediment.

Note:

1) Super high: the vertical distance from the lowest overflow of the contained liquid.

(2) The height of the spill control pallets shall be determined by the manufacturing owner or operator, or its engineer, and stated in the SPCC plan.

(3) The "Good Engineering Practice" states that pallets with protective structures do not need to be high to trap sediment.
